Delete your Poor Man's Gym account
You can delete your Poor Man's Gym account and all the data backed up to it at any time, either in the app or by email if you no longer have the app.
Delete it in the app
- Open Poor Man's Gym and make sure you are signed in to the account you want to delete.
- Go to Profile → Settings → Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and its backed-up data are deleted straight away, and the app clears its data from your phone and returns to the sign-in screen.
Ask by email, without the app
- Send an email to privacy@poormansgym.com with the subject "Delete my Poor Man's Gym account".
- Send it from the email address of the Google account you signed in with, or tell us that address. We may reply to confirm that the request comes from the account's owner.
- We delete your account and its data within 30 days and email you when it is done.
What is deleted
- your Poor Man's Gym account (your sign-in record: name, email address, profile picture link and user ID);
- everything backed up to it: your profile and settings, workouts, sets, programs, gear, weigh-ins (including those imported from Health Connect), body measurements, XP, streaks, badges, quests and any photos you added.
What is kept, and for how long
- Analytics event data (which screens and features were used) does not contain your name, email address or fitness data. It is deleted automatically after up to 14 months.
- Crash reports are deleted automatically after up to 90 days.
- Your deletion email and our reply are kept for up to 12 months, as a record that we handled your request.
- Deleted data can remain for a limited time in Google's encrypted backup systems before it is overwritten.
Data on your phone
Deleting your account in the app also clears the app's data from that phone. You can also remove everything the app stored on a phone by uninstalling the app, or with Android Settings → Apps → Poor Man's Gym → Storage → Clear storage. Uninstalling on its own does not delete your account or its backed-up data: use one of the options above for that.
Health Connect data
What the app saved to Health Connect (your finished workouts and weigh-ins) belongs to Health Connect, not to your Poor Man's Gym account, so deleting your account does not remove it. Manage or delete it in Health Connect: on Android 14 and later in Settings → Security and privacy → Privacy → Health Connect, or in the Health Connect app on earlier versions (the exact path depends on your phone). You can also remove Poor Man's Gym's access there.
Deleting only some data
To remove individual entries, such as a weigh-in, delete them in the app; the deletion reaches your account the next time the app syncs. You can also email privacy@poormansgym.com to ask us to delete specific data without deleting your account.
